Summary
No Man’s Skydeveloper Hello Games has recently released Patch 5.29, which is already available on Steam and is coming to other platforms soon. During 2024, Hello Games released multiple patches forNo Man’s Sky, and this latest one is a minor update to end a year packed with new content and many bug fixes.
No Man’s Skyis currently apopular space exploration game, but it was one of the most disappointing games of the year when it came out in 2016. Many gamers were disappointed by a perceived lack of depth and variety inNo Man’s Sky’s vast universe when the game was released, and it took several years of patching the title to regain the goodwill of the fanbase. Over the years, Hello Games released new features such as the ability to play in co-op with friends, build settlements, find companions, and more, which greatly improvedNo Man’s Sky.

The recent Patch 5.29 forNo Man’s Skyis a small update that fixes a few bugs, such as a rare crash that only happened on the PS4, an issue that caused ship inventories to become merged, and one that caused poor performance for gamers playing on Mac. Other fixed issues were related to crashes that happened when using the PS4 version of the game on the PS5, or multiplayer connections failing on the PS4. Apart from these fixes, the update also brought wind vertex optimizations, which improved performance.
Most recentNo Man’s Skyupdates have been somewhat small. InNo Man’s Sky’s previous Patch 5.28, the title received minor optimizations and fixed two bugs, as well as improved cross-save flow on PS5 and Switch.

That’s not to say thatNo Man’s Skydid not receive major updates this year.No Man’s Skyreleased the Aquarius updatein September, which added over 160 types of fish to the game, as well as new cosmetics and recipes focused on the oceans. New features included the ability to keep records of the fish caught, automated fish traps, a new exo vehicle, a new community expedition, and more.
Another recent noteworthy patch was thePS5 Pro update forNo Man’s Sky. The new update allowed gamers to play at 8K resolution at 30 FPS, making the space exploration game look even better than before on Sony’s new mid-gen console. Hopefully, Hello Games will continue releasing major updates forNo Man’s Sky, improving on all aspects of the experience.
