A few weeks ago, an insider by the name of SamLeakss reported thatCyberpunk 2077would have a crossover withFortnitein the near future. At the time, SamLeakss claimed that the collaboration wouldn’t involve theCyberpunk: Edgerunnersanime, but rather theCyberpunkgame itself. He did note, though, that it would feature more than justCyberpunk-themed cars. Judging by how frequently Epic Games held crossover events inFortnite, SamLeakss' statements weren’t that hard to believe.Cyberpunkdeveloper CD Projekt Red had, after all, collaborated with Epic Games in the past to addWitcherskins toFortnite, so a crossover with the 2020 game seemed all but inevitable.

Sure enough, Epic Games officially announced on December 22 that newCyberpunk 2077cosmetics would be coming toFortnite. This collaboration, Epic confirmed, would add two new skins to the battle royale shooter: one inspired by the default female V skin used in promotional material forCyberpunk, and another based off of notorious rockerboy Johnny Silverhand. The event would also include a few other noteworthy in-game items, such as a Mantis Blade harvester, a Quadra Turbo R vehicle, and a Night City Lights wrap. While these newCyberpunk-themed cosmetics are exciting, the Johnny Silverhand skin included in this collaboration is technically not the first of its kind inFortnite.

The Johnny Silverhand Skin Resembles One Other Outfit in Fortnite

Johnny Silverhand is a Rebellious Rockerboy Portrayed by Keanu Reeves, Who Also Plays John Wick

Johnny Silverhand, for those who don’t know, is one of themain characters inCyberpunk 2077. Born nearly 100 years before the events of the game, Silverhand is a rock star-turned-terrorist who bombed the headquarters of the dystopian corporation Arasaka, in an event that would later be known as the Night City Holocaust. Silverhand gets captured and killed shortly after the attack, but a replica of his consciousness is uploaded onto a chip called an engram. Fifty years later, said chip makes its way into the head of the mercenary named V, the player-created protagonist ofCyberpunk 2077. Silverhand’s consciousness becomes trapped in V’s body, and V has to get it out of their head before it overwrites their mind.

As many may know by now,Cyberpunk 2077’s Johnny Silverhandis portrayed byJohn WickandThe Matrixstar Keanu Reeves. Not only is he voiced by the famous Canadian actor, his character model is also based off of him as well. It’s not common for an A-list celebrity like Reeves to have a role in a AAA video game, and even less common for them to play a main character in the medium. Johnny Silverhand is a bit of a rarity in that regard; the Keanu Reeves-portrayed character has thousands upon thousands of lines of dialogue inCyberpunk 2077.

A John Wick Skin is Also Available in Fortnite

Interestingly, Johnny Silverhand is actually the second character modeled after Keanu Reeves to be added toFortnite. A few years ago, Epic Games and the film production company Lionsgate teamed up to releasea John Wick skinfor the hit multiplayer shooter. This Legendary outfit, which was added as part ofFortnite’s ninth season in May 2019, was released alongside a collection of otherJohn Wick-themed cosmetics. Players could not only dress up as the titular hitman, they could also obtain a Wick’s Katana pickaxe, an Assassin wrap, and a few emotes, among other items.

Reeves is perhaps one of the only real-life individuals to have not one, but twoFortniteskins that use his likeness. The John Wick outfit, based off the character he portrayed inthe titular action film franchise, is still available in theFortniteshop, and can be purchased for 2,000 V-Bucks (approximately $16) at the time of writing. The Johnny Silverhand skin, meanwhile, is a little bit cheaper, as it costs only 1,500 V-Bucks ($11.99). Regardless of which cosmetic players pick, they can get the opportunity to run around as Keanu Reeves inFortnite, which is not something a lot of other video games can provide.
