The originstory of Hit-Monkeyinvolves a group of macaques living in Japan taking in a wounded assassin from the snowy mountain region they lived in. As the assassin recovered, one monkey began to study the assassin’s movements as he honed his assassination skills. After the clan of monkeys was slain by soldiers looking for the assassin, Hit-Monkey used the skills learned from the assassin to set out on a quest for vengeance.
Hit-Monkey also received an animated TV series in 2021.
The spirit of the assassin that Hit-Monkey studied returned to guide his path of revenge, along which Hit-Monkey encountered Marvel characters like Bullseye, Deadpool, and even joined theHowling Commandosat one point. Hit-Monkey’s martial arts prowess and deadly accuracy with the two handguns he wields could form the basis for an interesting kit inMarvel Rivals, but could also add to his appeal as a character as well. An underrated part of Hit-Monkey’s abilities is the fact that being a macaque allows him to remain undetected since the idea of a monkey being a hitman is too ridiculous to be believable.
