More often than not, fans will have to wait for an incredibly long period of time before certain plot points have their payoff. While this can feel a bit annoying at first, overall, this helps give these moments the proper development and time that they deserve, creating some of the best parts ofOne Piece.
One moment like this that fans have been waiting for years now isthe reunion between Vivi and the Straw Hats. For many, this is one of the most highly anticipated moments of the series that has been many years in the making. However, while many fans are hoping for a sweet moment between old friends, due to Vivi’s current situation in the story, this may not necessarily be the case.
Vivi Is Everyone’s Favorite Honorary Straw Hat In One Piece
She’s Recently Found Herself In Some Trouble
The story of Vivi and the Straw Hats goes as far back as the crew’s initial voyage to the Grand Line. On the Grand Line, the pirates helped Vivi freethe kingdom of Alabasta from Crocodile’s evil plan, all while growing extremely close to the princess herself. Although Vivi chose to stay in Alabasta and passed on the offer to sail the seas as a member of the Straw Hats. However, due to her closeness with Luffy and her friends, many fans consider Vivi to be an honorary member of the Straw Hat Crew.

However, much later in the story ofOne Piece, Vivi finds herself in a major amount of trouble. During the Reverie Arc, Vivi stumbled upona horrific secret of the World Governmentand saw the face of the Imu, the secret ruler of the entire world. After a narrow escape, Vivi is now on the run from the World Government hiding with Wapol on the ship of Big News Morgan.
A Reunion Between Vivi And The Straw Hats May Be Much Darker Than Expected
Vivi Could Potentially Be In Too Much Danger For A Sweet Reunion
Due to the circumstances that Vivi has currently found herself in, a reunion withOne Piece’sStraw Hat Crewat this point in the story may be more dangerous than anything. Currently, Vivi, being on the run from Imu, is arguably in more danger than the Straw Hats themselves are at the moment. Additionally, without a strong combatant to keep her safe, when the Straw Hats see Vivi again, she may once again be in dire need of help.
WhenVivi sees the Straw Hats again, rather than having a happy reunion, it’s equally possible that the danger of the situation may make the reunion, at least initially, somber in tone. Additionally, due to the nature of Vivi’s situation, an official and happy reunion may have to wait until Imu and the World Government have been officially defeated, or, at the very least, they lose interest in pursuing Vivi as a potential threat.
A Reunion With Vivi Could Be A Rescue Mission
Though No Matter What The Straw Hats Will Be Happy To See Her
The reunion with Vivi could potentially be a rescue mission as well, with the Straw Hats being forced to infiltrateOne Piece’sWorld Governmentin order to rescue Vivi. If Vivi is captured, the Straw Hats may need to undertake one of their riskiest rescue missions to date, taking on the strongest military force in the One Piece universe. While the eventual meeting in this situation would be heart-warming, the entire atmosphere of this rescue mission would be tenser than a normal reunion would be.

Finally, despitetheOne Pieceprincess Vivi’scurrent situation, it still may be possible that the Straw Hats will still be extremely happy when they see Vivi once again. Although there is still the looming threat of the World Government and Imu, Luffy’s indomitable spirit is bound to make even the darkest situation a little brighter. However, despite this, for the audience, it’s much harder to forget about the danger that Vivi is currently in, even with Luffy being endlessly optimistic.
In the end, although it will most likely be one ofthe sweetest moments inOne Piece, the reunion between Vivi and the Straw Hats may be filled with more danger and tension than joy. Additionally, if Vivi is captured by the World Government before seeing the Straw Hats, the fight to save her may be one of the most dangerous undertakings the crew has ever faced. With that being said, no matter how the Straw Hats meet Vivi again inOne Piece, it is bound to be a wonderful moment in the series, full of a multitude of emotions.
