Summary

When it comes to character power-ups,One Piecehas always had an interesting track record. While some fans believe that many of the power-ups throughout the show are completely justified through hard work and training, others believe that some characters seem to get stronger out of nowhere, with things like Gear 2 and Gear 5 just appearing to Luffy, without being fully earned. No matter the side, however, these power-ups have always presented some intriguing powers inOne Piecethat are bound to shake up the community when they arrive.

This excitement surrounding new power-ups generally gets many fans excited about innovations the Straw Hat Crew could employ, to get just a bit stronger. This is especially true with the current story barreling throughOne Piece’sFinal Saga. Some important battles are coming toOne Piecevery soon, and some of the Straw Hats deserve a little bit more strength before they go and face off against some of their final foes.

The Straw Hats Are A Well-Rounded One Piece Pirate Crew

Some Crew Members Have Stagnated In Strength For A Bit

So far, being one of the most consistent pirate crews in terms of strength, each member of the Straw Hat Crew is fairly on par with one another. Additionally, each crew member has a few glaring weaknesses that other members make up for. Luffy, for example, despite being the physically strongest crew member, can be hot-headed and unintelligent, something eventhe weakest crew members, Nami and Usopp, help him with frequently. InOne Piece, physical strength and power aren’t everything, meaning none of the Straw Hats need a power-up to survive in the Final Saga.

However, with that being said, a few of the Straw Hat members have been a bit stagnant in terms of power and deserve a new upgrade beforethe end ofOne Piece. While some Straw Hats, like Zoro, Sanji, and Luffy, are frequently given upgrades consistently, others have been waiting for their opportunity to show off fantastic new abilities. At the same time, other characters, like Chopper, would be great potential candidates, though they seem to be better suited for a support role at the time being.

Franky And Usopp Deserve Some New Upgrades In Elbaf

An Upgrade From Vegapunk And Observation Haki Would Be Perfect

First up, the Straw Hat that probably most deserves a power-up out of the Straw Hat Crew would have to be Franky. Throughout the story, Franky has always been teetering on the cusp of being one ofthe Straw Hat Crew’s strongest fightersand is borderline Emperor Commander level as he currently stands in the story. Many fans have been waiting sinceOne Piece’sWano Arc to see Franky utilize things like Queen’s technology, or conversations with Vegapunk, to increase his arsenal. However, now that Franky has been having some interesting conversations with Vegapunk, it may not be too long before he gets the power-up he deserves.

Next up is Usopp, arguably the weakest member of the Straw Hat Crew. With Nami receiving the power of the Homie, Zeus, it seems like Usopp has been left in the dust by the other members ofOne Piece’sWeakling Trio. Usopp, through his hard work and bravery, deserves some sort of new power-up as a reward. PerhapsOne Piece’sElbaf Arc would be the perfect time for this. Potentially, if the moment is right, Usopp could unlock an advanced form of Observation Haki to give his sniping abilities an incredible boost.

Brook Needs A Stronger Devil Fruit Ability For Combat

An Awakening To The Revive-Revive Fruit Is Perfect

Finally, the last Straw Hat that deserves a power-up isthe musician of the Straw Hat Crew, Brook. While Brook has had some amazing scenes and is generally the MVP of almost every arc he’s in, the skeleton has often taken a supporting role in combat, rather than being a primary fighter. Despite being a fitting role for him, seeing him gain some extra abilities, perhaps through awakening his Revive-Revive Fruit, would be nice to see.

What do you know of death?! Have you ever died?! You think death will preserve your cause forever?! Ridiculous! Death leaves nothing behind! - Brook

In the end, although these three characters deserve a power-up, each of the Straw Hats will likely receive some sort of boost in strength beforethe end ofOne Piece’sFinal Saga. Until then, however, fans will just have to speculate about what amazing new abilities each of the Straw Hats could obtain. Hopefully, the Straw Hats will receive these powers soon, sometime during their adventures on Elbaf inOne Piece.
