Summary
Grinding Gear Games announced that loot drops are increasing inPath of Exile 2. SincePath of Exile 2launched in early access, GGG has closely monitored player feedback to address anything that might detract from the experience. The update is being rolled out gradually, and the developer promised to post the patch notes as soon as they’re live.
Path of Exile 2has been available since December 6 for those who purchased the Early Access Supporter Pack. As the name suggests, the game is still in early access, but that hasn’t stoppedPath of Exile 2from a successful launchon Steam, peaking at nearly half a million concurrent players. However, as expected from an unfinished game, the action RPG has had its fair share of issues, which GGG has been quick to tackle with prompt hotfixes.

On theofficial forums, Grinding Gear Games announced thatPath of Exile 2will receive buffed loot drops in response to feedback that the game hasn’t felt rewarding enough. The developers emphasized caution with these changes, noting that once drop rates are increased, scaling them back can be tricky if they go too far. One update, already live, addresses rare monsters. The change introduces rarity and quantity bonuses per mod on rare monsters and ensures that as players reach theendgame inPath of Exile 2, rare monsters will feature even more modifiers.
Another update tackles the issue of Unique bosses dropping poor loot. GGG has implemented an “unlucky” drop protection system, ensuring that Act Bosses and Map Bosses will always drop at least one rare item and that no more than 50% of a Unique monster’s drops can be gold. This change is also live, meaning anyone defeatingAct Bosses inPath of Exile 2from today onward is guaranteed rare items.
The patch will also tweak features like checkpoint fast travel and dodge roll adjustments. For checkpoints, players will be able to fast travel between all active checkpoints within an area. Additionally, new checkpoints have been added to zone entrances and exits. As for dodge rolls, many players complained about getting trapped by monsters and subsequently killed. The developer clarified that the intent was to allow monsters to corner players, but adjustments were made to makedodging inPath of Exile 2take up less space, enabling players to slip through even the smallest gaps. Neither of these features is live yet, but they should arrive in the game soon.
