Summary
Inside Out 3hasn’t been confirmed, but chances are that everyone who watched the first twoPixarmovies would be more than happy to see Riley again.Inside Out 2directorKelsey Mann has talked aboutInside Out 3and thinks there could definitely be more to Riley’s journey. After watching these smart, funny, and thought-provoking films, it’s hard not to want to rush to the theater to see a third right away.
Inside OutandInside Out 2focused on how emotions worked in Riley’s head, andInside Out 3should focus on one feeling. What ifInside Out 3was about self-esteem and self-worth? It would be cool and interesting to explore this idea, especially since there is so much inner work that Riley could do.

How Inside Out 3 Can Feature A Storyline About Self-Esteem
As everyone knows, too much or too little self-esteem can be a problem. It’s a shame when someone’s ego gets too large and they become insufferable to everyone around them. It’s also problematic when someone feels so terribly about themselves that they never speak up or follow their dreams.Inside Out 3could focus on Riley trying to become more confidentand learning an important and relatable lesson in the process.
WhetherInside Out 3is about Riley as a parentor an older teenager or college student, the movie could follow her inner work on her self-esteem. For the first part of the movie, she could become too conceited, which would allow the emotions in her brain to go wild. Her friends and family members would be upset with her behavior, which would make her realize she was behaving poorly. The second part of the movie could focus on how insecure she feels. After she realizes that she was miserable both ways, shelearns to be more humble and grounded. There could be a sweet and funny scene at the end of the movie of all the emotions cheering Riley on.

It would also be fun to see Riley struggle with her self-esteem becauseAmy Poehler’sInside Outcharacter Joycould get involved.Since Joy just wants Riley to have a good time and embrace all that life has to offer, Joy would have a difficult time. This would add some layers to the story. Voiced by Kaitlyn Diaz in the first movie and Kensington Tallman in the second, Riley is one ofthe best Pixar charactersbecause she’s compassionate, relatable, and curious about the world.
There are many ways thatInside Out 3could explore Riley’s self-worth.Riley could have a big presentation at work that could lead to a promotion, or she could lose a friend who hasn’t been nice to her. These storylines would all make Riley take a careful look at who she is, who she wants to be, and what the future looks like. WhileInside Outhas hilarious lines, the Pixar franchise focuses on serious topics like moving to a new place and feeling anxiety in high school. It would make sense for Riley to go on this type of journey inInside Out 3, and by the end of the movie, she would definitely be in a better, happier, calmer place.
Riley’s Story Continues In An Inside Out Spinoff TV Series
While there have beensome great Pixar sequels, it’s also fun to see theInside Outspinoff TV show calledDream Productions. Thankfully for fans, this show also features Riley. In the show, which only has four episodes, Paula Persimmon (Paula Pell) is dealing with all of Riley’s feelings. In an interview withIndieWire, creator and director Mike Jones said:
“I think my goal always was bringing the crew along to that final episode, to that lucid dream, where we can do something that ‘Inside Out’ and ‘Inside Out 2’ haven’t done. We can literally bring Riley into the mind world and have all of these mind workers stunned at the fact that they are finally able to speak to this girl one-on-one. It’s kind of breathtaking.”
Whether fans are getting to knowthe new emotions inInside Out 2or watching the TV seriesDream Productions,Riley’s story has struck a chord with audiences. If there is anInside Out 3, it will be fascinating to see where her life goes next.
