Summary
The registrations for the firstElden Ring Nightreignnetwork test are scheduled to open tomorrow, January 10. However, the upcoming test comes with a catch in that it will only be available for less than half ofElden Ring Nightreign’s target platforms.
FromSoftware and Bandai NamcoannouncedElden Ring Nightreignat The Game Awards 2024back in December. The upcoming title is described as a co-op Soulsborne experience in The Lands Between, primarily designed for three-player parties.Elden Ring Nightreignis presently targeting a 2025 release.

As is customary for multiplayer games,Elden Ring Nightreignwill get at least one network testahead of its launch. The signups for this limited-time beta are scheduled to open on Friday, January 10. Starting from that date, interested fans will be able to register for the test via its official website. Betas of this sort typically have a limited number of spots, though neither FromSoftware nor Bandai Namco have yet disclosed how many testers will be accepted. It’s plausible that this information won’t be shared at all.
Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test Is Limited to Only 2 Platforms
Fans fortunate enough to get in can expect their confirmation email to arrive no later than February 2025, which is when the test itself is planned to take place. Concrete dates for the beta are expected to be shared in the coming weeks. In the meantime, one unfortunate catch is that this test will be limited to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Given that the game is also planned to land on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, its upcoming test will hence effectively be limited to less than half of its target platforms. FromSoftware has already confirmed thatElden Ring Nightreignwon’t have cross-platform multiplayer, so its network test will also limit users to playing with people within the same console ecosystem.
Although this has yet to be officially confirmed, players shouldn’t expect any progress made during the network test to carry over to the full game. FromSoftware has yet to clarify whetherElden Ring Nightreignwill be treated to more betas in the future, though that remains a plausible possibility.

Apart from lacking cross-platform multiplayer, another one of the game’s network limitations concerns party sizes. Specifically,Elden Ring Nightreignwill only be playable solo or in parties of three, as FromSoftware has decided against balancing the game for duos. It’s presently unclear whether the upcoming network test will impose any additional gameplay restrictions.
