Summary

APokemonfan has put together an impressive LEGO build of Obstagoon while restricting the build to pieces from a single kit. The effort and final result has gotten the attention of fellowPokemonand LEGO fans, with many showing interest in doing the same.

Pokemonand LEGO go together very well despite the fact that there has never been an official collaboration between the two. While other Nintendo games likeAnimal CrossingandZeldahave seen LEGO releases,Pokemonfans have been left to design their own versions of Pokemon using generic LEGO blocks. Thankfully, LEGO has always emphasized using one’s imagination, and manyPokemonfans have created LEGO versions of their favorites without official sets to rely upon.

In this case, Reddit user Willing_Rip_6838 created a build of Obstagoon, the blocking Pokemon, while limiting themselves to using pieces from an official LEGO kit. They used the 3-in-1 Wild Animals: Panda Family LEGO kit, which is intended to create an adult and baby Panda and additional decorative pieces. With just 626 pieces to work with, Willing_Rip_6838 went to work with their own concept, bringing to life an impressive and recognizable Obstagoon. While the nature of LEGOs gives the Obstagoon a fairly blocky, rectangular look, the Pokemon is definitely recognizable, with features like its pink eyes and even a stand-in for its tongue included, and theLEGO Pokemonstands in its classic wide bipedal stance. Willing_Rip_6838 notes that the only thing they didn’t include was Obstagoon’s back fur, due to a lack of gray pieces.

Pokemon Fans Celebrate LEGO Obstagoon

Many fellow fans of the series have commented on the impressive piece, with the post having over 9000 upvotes at time of writing. While several pointed out that the Obstagoon has an almost mecha-like appearance, others have expressed excitement about the build and have asked for the OP to share instructions on how they put this all together. Although limiting oneself to a single LEGO set can make things challenging in a build like this, it’s also got some benefits for players who want to do the same, as there are no rare orexpensive LEGOpieces involved in this creation.

WhetherPokemongets its own LEGOsets someday or not, it’s clear that fans are willing to put in the work to make their ideas a reality regardless.Pokemonfans often share impressive creative pieces that make use of all kinds of unusual mediums. WhilePokemonLEGO builds are fairly common in the fandom, the unique creativity that’s required to make each one continues to captivate players and encourages fans to build their own ideas.
