Summary

APokemonfan took to social media to show off an incredible Wii holder that was shaped like Porygon, one of the more unique critters in the series. ThePokemonfan shared not only a photo of the finished product but also posted a YouTube video that went over the many steps and efforts they took to make their Porygon Wii system a reality.

Known as the Virtual Pokemon, Porygon first appeared inPokemon Red and Blue. In its debut, Porygon could only be purchased as a prize at the Celadon City Game Corner for 9,999 Coins, which required either playing games at the Game Corner or converting as much as 200,000 Pokemon Dollars into Coins. Porygon is a Normal-type Pokemon with a polygonal pink and blue body, reminiscent of how 3D-rendered models looked in video games in the 1990s. Porygon received two evolutions in later generations, dubbed Porygon2 and PorygonZ. InPokemon Scarlet and Violet,Porygon and its evolutions can be foundthroughout the Terarium’s Polar Biome and in 5 and 6-Star Tera Raid dens.

Althoughimpressive fan artwork of Porygon has been donein the past, onePokemontrainer shared the efforts of a unique project they undertook. A content creator named BigRig Creates shared a picture of their Porygon-themed Wii console holder on the r/pokemon subreddit and posted a YouTube video of how the console came together. Calling the product a “PorWiigon,” the Wii holder matched Porygon’s pink and blue color scheme. Porygon’s body was 3D printed, with the chest cavity serving as the home for the Wii system placed horizontally. Two Wii Remote controllers were holstered on each side of the Porygon, with an additional Nunchuck in the back to serve as Porygon’s tail. Porygon’s head was attached to a microphone stand and was used to house the Wii’s Sensor Bar.

Pokemon Fan Designs Unique Porygon-Shaped Wii Console Holder

During a previous trip to Japan, BigRig Creates purchased some parts that allowed them to create their own Wii Sensor Bar to fit into Porygon’s head. The Wii console used by BigRig Creates was an original Wii that had GameCube compatibility, but its white chassis was swapped out for a blue one from a Wii Family Edition console that did not have those features. BigRig Creates demonstrated the final product byplaying a round ofWii Sportsto close out the video.

BigRig Creates also credited a Twitter user named Altradoll for the original art concept. WithPokemon’s 10th generation still in development, it remains to be seen what fan projects will be made after.
