Summary

APokemonfan has designed a Flying-type Eevee, giving the overlooked typing a unique twist that makes its design seem like a natural evolution of the Eevee family.Pokemonfans are eager to see more Eeveelutions, if fan posts like these are any indication.

After years of new Eevee evolutions emerging in every mainline game,Pokemonabruptly stopped creating new Eeveelutions following Sylveon, which premiered in 2013. After adecade without new Eeveelutions,Pokemonfans have never stopped putting pen to paper to create new ideas in lieu of Game Freak official releases.

Now,Pokemonfan KikiMongoose- has created a unique Eeveelution that turns thepopular Pokemon into a Flying-type. ThePokemonfan has named the creation Breezeon, which fits the naming conventions established by prior Eeveelutions pretty well. This Eeveelution is blue, with markings on its face and the mane around its neck resembling retro pilot wear. Breezeon has two tails, which could be utilized in flight, but the most interesting detail is the webbing between the legs and belly. Akin to a flying squirrel, Breezeon would be able to glide through the air, rather than flying on wings. The Pokemon fan also suggested an interesting evolution method, as Eevee would evolve into Breezeon while holding an Air Balloon.

Flying-Type Evolution Underscores What Could Have Been for Eevee

Pokemonfans seem to be quite enthusiastic about the concept and the execution in the art, underscoring the lack of new forms Eevee has received. Unfortunately, a flying-type Eevee is something that fans might have actually gotten to see, according to recent leaks. The leaks allege that aflying-type Eevee was in the works, but similarities between Game Freak’s ideas for it and fan designs were discovered. As a result, it was scrapped. Strangely, that seems to have put a total hold on new Eevee ideas, leaving fans wanting.

Whether Eevee will ever get a new evolutionremains to be seen, but it does seem likely that Game Freak will eventually return to the unique creature eventually. The original Pokemon is popular for its cuteness and potential, and while everyPokemongame introduces new creatures, many older pocket monsters often get shaken up with new forms, evolutions, or moves as a result. Given the pace with whichPokemonfans are constantly creating and sharing new ideas, though, it remains to be seen how the developer will avoid producing a concept without any similarities to existing fan works.
