To match the celebration, the game will feature colorful fireworks lighting up the virtual skies. Additionally,severalPokemon GOspecieswill appear more often in the wild, including Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year’s outfit, and Wurmple wearing a party hat. One-star raids will feature Pikachu wearing a snowflake beanie, while three-star raids will bring back popular costumed Pokemon like Raticate and Wobbuffet, both wearing party hats. For lucky players,shiny versions of these Pokemonwill also be available. Trainers can also take on event-themed Field Research tasks to encounter costumed Pokemon and earn Stardust.
