Summary
Pokemon GOfans are unhappy over the Christmas spawns, with many stating that the Pokemon featured in the event don’t match the vibe of the Holiday season.Pokemon GOfans eagerly wait for the release of the Holiday event every year, as it gives them a chance to catch some rare Pokemon. However, it seems like this year’s event has received a lukewarm reception from the community.
The first part of the Holiday event witnessed the debut of shiny Sandygast along withDedenne Wearing Holiday Attire inPokemon GO. Alongside that, players also got a plethora of featured spawns, quests, and a lot more. The costumed variants of the Pokemon are by far one of the most sought variants in the game, as players can get them only during special events, and they add a nice little twist to their favorite Pokemon. While Niantic added some exciting costumed Pokemon this year as well, it seems like the other wild spawns featured in the event haven’t gone down well in the community.

In a new post on thePokemon GOsubreddit user CombProfessional434 expresses their frustration over the ongoing Christmas event inPokemon GO. The player highlights how theHoliday Part 2 event spawns inPokemon GOare dominated by Dark and Poison-type spawns. According to them, the featured spawns do not match the vibe of the Holiday season. They further suggest that Pokemon such as Wooloo, Delibird, and costumed Pikachu or Eevees would’ve been much more apt for the event.
Pokemon GO Players Frustrated With Lack of Ice-type Pokemon
Other players in thePokemon GOcommunity seem to echo similar sentiments. The lack of Ice-type Pokemon inPokemon GOduring the winter season is something players are quite surprised with. One player adds that they are struggling to finish the quest to find three Ice-type Pokemon even when the temperature outside is below the freezing point. The only event fans seem to be happy about is the recently concludedDelibird Spotlight Hour inPokemon GO, which gives them a chance to catch a much-coveted Pokemon.
In fact, players seem to be unhappy with theDual Destiny season inPokemon GOin general. Many believe that this entire idea of contrasting themes is pretty good for a single event, but dragging it for an entire season seems to be quite a stretch. While the first part of thePokemon GOHoliday event was well received by the community, it seems like Niantic has missed the target with its last offering for the year.
