Tetsuo Hara recently revealed a new Palafin card that will be coming toPokemon TCGnext year. The card is technically a re-release of the Palafin EX card which was included in theTwilight Masquerade set, but the stunning new artwork has done more than enough to set it apart. This rendition of Palafin EX was illustrated by Tetsuo Hara himself, and its distinctive style should be immediately recognizable to eagle-eyed anime fans.
Tetsuo Hara is most well-known as theillustrator behindFist of the North Star, which he co-created alongside writer Buronson.Fist of the North Star, also known asHokuto no Ken, is often cited as one of the most influential battle manga of all time. Likewise, the series' identity is heavily tied to Hara’s bold shading and dynamic action lines, both of which are on full display with Palafin EX.
ConsideringFist of the North Staris one of the best-selling manga in history, it’s no surprise that Hara’s Palafin EX has instantly become a fan favorite. Tetsuo Hara’s name alone is bound to draw collectors, and the card packs quite the punch in competitive play. Palafin EX will be available as part of thePrismatic Evolutions set, which is scheduled for release in English on July 16, 2025.
