The official X (formerly Twitter)account for Ao Ashi alsoposted Yūgo Kobayashi’s statement regarding the conclusion. In his message, Yūgo Kobayashi thanked the fans for their unwavering support over the years. He confirmed that the story will reach its finale when the Barcelona match is wrapped up.

Ao Ashi began serializationin Weekly Big Comic Spirits in January 2015. The manga hit its first major milestone in 2020 when it sold more than 4.5 million copies.
This number doubled by February 2022, and in 2023, it had sold over 17 million copies. Currently, Ao Ashi has more than 21 million copies in circulation.
