A post made by user RippleDrive on theLEGO Ideaswebsite details plans for a LEGO PS2 set, which has garnered enough support to be officially considered by the Danish company for mass production. If released, the set would allow PlayStation fans to not only construct a PS2 console out of LEGO bricks, but also craft its controllers, memory cards, and internal components as well. In its current state, the set contains over 2,000 pieces and is close to 1:1 scale when compared to the original non-slim PlayStation 2. While it’s unclear whether it will get Sony’s approval, fans are keeping their fingers crossed that the design will appear on store shelves sometime in the future. According to RippleDrive, they chose to build the PS2 because it is their “favorite video game console of all time,” and “video game-related LEGO sets have been successful.”
