Summary
Sunkenlandis asurvival gamewith a twist. Most of the game map is underwater, and the player needs to dive down to loot wrecks and gather resources. This sounds simple, but the map design is cunning, with some of the rarer resources being so deep that the player must time their dive to the second in order to get back to the surface safely.
Base buildingand crafting are a huge part of the game, and this includes setting up base defenses to fight off the regularraids by enemy NPCs. Overall, survival game fans will find thatSunkenlanddelivers a fresh and fun take on the genre.

8Wood
An Evergreen Essential
Wood is both easy to get, but also completely essential to gather inSunkenland. There are a couple of ways to get wood in this game. Firstly, it can be picked up from the floor, as there are dead branches dotted around. Secondly, it can be gained by chopping down trees and bushes.
Wood is used in almost every early game crafting recipe and base structure. It is also needed later in the game to expand a base. Trees can be grown in planters to ensure a steady supply of this

7Scrap Metal
Important Early Game Component
One of the very first resources a newSunkenlandplayer needs to find in some quantity, is scrap metal. It is used in many of the initial crafting recipes for better tools, etc. Finding scrap metal meansgoing underwaterand looting cars and other debris.
Scrap metal is not a renewable resource, and once an area has been cleared of it, the player will need to move on to another location. However, it will eventually respawn after quite some time if the player moves away from the area.

6Components
Hard To Get But Essential
Components are needed to perform upgrades at the research table. They are pretty rare and tend to be found in the deeper parts of the sea, making them not only difficult to get, but also dangerous.
In many ways, it is best to spend components carefully, until the player has managed to unlock the additional breathing apparatus that lets themdive deeperand stay underwater for longer. Once the player has the right equipment, getting components becomes a little easier, but they are always in demand and should be used wisely.

5Iron And Copper
Easy To Get But Slow To Refine
Once a newSunkenlandplayer has come to the stage when it is time to leave the starting island, they are going to need to start sourcing iron and copper. The reason for this, is that they will need better base defenses to fight off NPC raids, meaning lots of iron is required.
An ore detector is needed to locate nodes of ores, and luckily, this is pretty easy to use. Gathering iron and copper isn’t hard, it just takes time. However, converting the ore into ingots does take time, as this is a pretty slow process. These resources are also used for components such as gun parts.

4Fuel
Use It Wisely
Sunkenlandplayers can find fuel in barrels that are close to sunken, derelict machinery, and also ships. This is a pretty rare resource, but it is definitely needed, as it is used to run some of the advanced crafting stations.
Fuel is also used to power motorboats, which can make getting around the open-world map a lot easier. However, if fuel supplies are limited, this is not the most efficient use of it, as it is better to use it to power crafting stations. Motorboats are not much faster than sailboats, so they are not a need, they are a want.

3Food
Raw Food And Seeds
As with almost everysandbox-stylesurvival game, food is a big part of staying alive in Sunkenland. Indeed, at the start of the game, it is not uncommon for a new player to die from starvation until they learn the good early game sources of food.
Food can be picked raw, and there are options such as mushrooms that are found on the starting island, along with crabs that can be killed and cooked. However, the best way to set up a sustainable supply of food is to use the seeds that are sometimes dropped when harvesting raw food, and plating them in a planter.

2Cloth
Useful For Early Game Upgrades
Cloth inSunkenlandisn’t particularly hard to find, but it is needed in quite some quantity, especially at the start of the game. It is found in many kinds of loot when deconstructed, and also in crates.
The main use of cloth in the early game, is to craft a better backpack and also some basic armor. It is also used in certain useful structures, such as a bed, which enables the player to sleep at night and fast forward time until the morning.

1Rubber
Very Valuable In The Early Game
Rubber is an interesting resource in Sunkenland, as it comes with a kind of catch-22 situation attached to it. This is because rubber is used for the upgrades to unlock better breathing apparatus, and also in the recipe for the same. However, it is only available in any decent quantity in very deep parts of the sea.
The best place to find rubber is near a large, sunken factory or industrial site. Look for the large tires that often lay around within and close to these POI, as they are a good source of rubber in this undersea survival game.
