Warriors using Maces inPath of Exile 2are notorious for being incredibly slow, but they have access to some incredibly powerful skills that can one-shot entire maps of enemies and even bosses. Rolling Slam somewhat alleviates the sluggishness that this class is known for, and if built properly, this skill can carry players all the way to the endgame.

The following is an early-mid-game build that’s meant for players who are just starting out as a Warrior, and given how Rolling Slam is a starting skill, it works in a pinch for players who are having troublegetting Uncut Skill Gems inPoE 2.

Rolling Slam Build - Main Skills

As of the early access version ofPath of Exile 2,Rolling Slam is one of the best Mace skills for Warriors who want to maintain some semblance of mobility. Most (if not all) Mace skills are very slow, and while Rolling Slam has a two-second cast time,it can be canceled after the first slam, making it a very flexible skill. This build focuses on using Rolling Slam as its main source of damage while giving players options to quickly deal with bosses and other tough enemies.

How to Play the Build

UseRolling Slamfor general clearing and as your main source ofStun Buildup inPoE 2. Early on, the first hit of Rolling Slam is often enough to make enemiesPrimed for Stun, setting them up for a finishing blow withBoneshatter. As such, use Rolling Slam and immediately cancel it into Boneshatter once an enemy becomes Primed for Stun for quicker clears. Use Armour Breaker against armored enemies so you can deal full Physical damage to them.

Sunderis here as your main boss killer. It deals guaranteed critical damage when hitting an Armour Broken enemy — apply that debuff first, then inflict a Heavy Stun on your target before using this skill. Later on, grabLeap Slamfor some added mobility and strong AoE stun application for Boneshatter. Then, getSeismic Cryto guarantee Aftershocks for Sunder.

Rolling Slam build passives for PoE 2

You’ll eventually reach a point where you’re instantly stunning enemies with one hit of Rolling Slam. From thereon, you may replace Boneshatter with something else, likeVolcanic Fissure, which synergizes with Slam skills.

Rolling Slam Support Gems

The Overpower, Devastate, and Armour Explosion combo works wonders with Rolling Slam. It basically replaces Boneshatter, which means you can Rolling Slam through entire hordes of enemies without having to cancel your attacks. However, since Devastate and Armour Explosion are T2 Support Gems, you’ll want to use something else if your level isn’t high enough. Consider using the following:

Use any T1 Support Gem to fill in any gaps until you obtain the gems listed on the table above.

As of writing, Aftershocks deal no damage when triggered by Rolling Slam. When this bug is fixed, players can use the Aftershock and Tremors Support Gems to further increase Rolling Slam’s lethality.

Passive Tree

The passive tree setup for this build focuses on Stun Buildup, Heavy Stun Damage, andthe Armour Break mechanic. Rolling Slam deals 50% more damage against Heavy Stunned enemies, so these should make the build feel powerful while giving players enough flexibility to pick any of the Warrior’s Ascendancy classes. While leveling up, work your way toward these major nodes in order:

you may look for these passive nodes via the Search function in the Passive Skills tree.

For simplicity’s sake, we recommendsticking with a Two-Handed Mace with Physical damage for this build. Since you’ll always be reducing the Physical resistance of enemies to zero with Armour Breaker or after Heavy Stunning them with Rolling Slam, you won’t have to worry about dealing less-than-ideal damage.
