A leak from a prominentFortnitecommunity member late last month suggested that theKing Kongfranchise will soon be added to Fortnite, with a skin based on the colossal ape. King Kong has seen a major resurgence throughout recent years, appearing in theGodzilla vs. Kongfilms and several recent video games. Now, King Kong is set to arrive inFortnitewith new in-game implications.

As reported by Dexerto, a recent update from prominentFortnitedataminer Loolo could be hinting at an in-game boss fight for the rumoredKing Kongcrossover. According to the post, Epic Games added several new tags under “Banana” as a codename, referencing a growl, roar, step, and thump. The tags likely reference different attacks that would be used bya King Kong bosswithinFortnite, suggesting players will likely be able to battle the iconic primate for powerful rewards and weapons. A release window was not confirmed for theKing Kongcrossover.
