Horror fans are now hearing more updates about the cast ofScream 7, and a well-known star has now joined the slasher sequel that will bring back Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and the memorable Ghostface.
According toDeadline,Anna Camp has been cast inScream 7.As the publication noted, the plot of the movie hasn’t been officially shared, and no one is sure what character Camp is portraying. Perhaps more details will come out beforethe movie’s February 2026 release date, but if not, fans will still be excited to head to the theater.
Camp joins the cast that includesMason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, Campbell as final girl Sidney Prescott, and newer cast members Sam Rechner,The Handmaid’s TaleandMalignantstar Mckenna Grace, Asa Germann, and Celeste O’Conner. It’s unclear which characters most of these actors are playing, although it was announced thatIsabel May is playing Sidney’s daughter.
So far,Gooding is the onlyScream 7cast member who was part of the Core Fourincluding Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter, and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin. Ortega and Barrera aren’t returning for the horror sequel, and it’s unclear if Savoy Brown will appear again. SinceChad didn’t die inScream 6but was brutally attacked, Chad and Sidney might be the only two people whounderstand what it’s like to experience being hunted by Ghostface. This could lead to a new bond between the two characters, which will be interesting to observe. Audiences would love for Savoy Brown to be officially cast so Mindy and Chad can both be in the movie.
Afterthe two bigScream 7updatesaboutKevin Williamson directing and Campbell returning, there wasn’t much news about the sequel, which makes the many recent casting announcements thrilling to hear about. Camp is one of the biggest names now attached to the movie and is known forplaying Aubrey Posen in the funny and musicalPitch Perfectfranchise. Camp has appeared in several sitcoms, includingUnbreakable Kimmy Schmidtand The Mindy Project, along with dramas such asTrue BloodandThe Good Wife. She has also appeared in movies such asThe Help.
Although there will likely beseveral teenage characters inScream 7since there are many younger cast members, Camp could be playing a friend of Sidney’s or someone she is acquainted with. Since she is known for her comedic work,she could portray a character who offers some comedic relief to the slasher story. Maybe her character will be like Alison Brie’s funny and ditzy publicist inScream 4.No matter what character Camp plays,Scream 7is going to have an excellent cast full of talented stars.
