The latestSTALKER 2update comes just one month after the game’s release and although the long-awaited sequel launched to positive reviews, it was no secret that the title had plenty of bugs and glitches that still needed to be rectified.
Fans of theSTALKERseries had been waiting for 15 years for a new entry, and after multiple delays due to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, GSC Game World finally releasedSTALKER 2back in November. Anticipation for the sequel was so high that the studio announced just two days after its launch thatSTALKER 2had passed a major sales milestone, selling over a million copies in under 48 hours. The title is available on both Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam, with the latter featuring over 70,000 user reviews with a “very positive” rating.

The latestSTALKER 2updateis now live, bringing the game to version 1.1 with well over 1,800 different bug fixes. According to the patch notes, which can be found further down this article, these fixes address issues with NPCs, AI, optimization, performance, cutscenes, mainline missions, side quests, and so much more. Although there’s no new content for players to check out in the December 19 update, the studio did previously promise a roadmap forSTALKER 2at some point in late December, with free in-game content planned for future patches.
While GSC Game World did manage to get its monumental sequel across the line, there were numerous issues still present in the final version. Thankfully, GSC Game World promised fans on the game’s release date that it would continue to work on the sequel andfixSTALKER 2’s launch issues. Since then, the team has deployed numerous updates that aim to improve the game’s overall performance on both Xbox Series X/S and PC.

GSC Game World fought long and hard to releaseSTALKER 2as the sequel was developed in Kyiv during Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. The events of the war saw the title delayed multiple times, with development even being paused indefinitely at one point. However, it’s clear that this was a must-release game for the studio, asSTALKER 2’s launch was so big in Ukraine that it caused internet outages.
