During the Hot on the Trail mission inStalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Skif reaches the Waste Processing Station when he hears a radio broadcast from the survivors. After reaching the station, players will meet Jumper and Bluish, the sole survivors. Jumper will explain how there’s a monster in the facility that took control of everyone, including his buddy Bluish.
Jumper will ask Skif to take the creature down in exchange for a code to the stash. However, to get to the bottom of the facility, Skif must retrieve the key from a worker named North, who’s located on top of the WPS roof. This will start theShift Change side quest,during which Skif must retrieve the WPS key and get into the lower section of the Waste Processing Stationto confront the creature.
How to Find the Key from North on WPS Roof in Shift Change
Reaching the Warehouse
First, head out of the room and follow the bridge into the main compound of the Waste Processing Station. Go through the first building and go around the right side of the second building. Keep hugging the wall to the left, and you’ll reach a door that a zombified soldier will open. Shoot it in the head and enter the warehouse.
Heading up to the WPS Roof
After entering the warehouse, you’ll see a set of stairs leading to the upper platform. Head up the stairs and onto the platform, you’ll come across a dead body lying on a railing. There’s a space right next to it that you can jump from to land on the container in the middle of the warehouse.
Use the container as a bridge to reach the other side of the warehouse. Now reach the upper platform and climb up theladder that will take you to the WPS roof.
Retrieving the Key from North’s Body
Once you get on the roof, go towards the end until you reach a chair with a repurposed metal shed as an umbrella. Stand on the ledge and look down at the pipes to spot the body of North.
Carefully jump down to the middle pipe andloot the corpse to get the WPS roof key. Now you can progress through the “Shift Change” side quest and the “Hot on the Trail” main quest side by side.
