Stardew Valleyhas shipped more than 41 million copies across all platforms as of December 2024, according to a statement found on the game’sofficial website. Out of this figure, 26 million were supposedly sold on PC, while 7.9 million copies were purchased by Switch users. ConcernedApe revealed in late February that the game had crossed 30 million sales at the time, soStardew Valleywas seemingly able to sell 11 million copies within the last 10 months.Stardew Valley’s massive 1.6 updatewent live on PC in March, adding a host of new content, delivering a long list of bug fixes, and implementing various other tweaks to the RPG.

ConcernedApe has started working on his next game,Haunted Chocolatier, but the developer announced in April 2023 that he has taken a break from the project to focus onStardew Valleyonce again. In a recentblog post, ConcernedApe explained that while he still has a strong desire to make more games, he also feels like he has an obligation to all the people who purchasedStardew Valley.The developer, who previously assured fans thatwork onHaunted Chocolatierwould only continue after the latest major build ofStardew Valleybecomes free of bugs on all platforms, admitted to being heavily involved in addressing issues, porting, and more following the release of update 1.6.

Despite having already produced so much additional content forStardew Valleyover the years, ConcernedApe admitted that he still has plenty of ideas left for the game. He even said that thedevelopment ofStardew Valleycould go on for the rest of his life.

Many issues popped up afterStardew Valley’s 1.6 update finally reached console and mobile players in November. An emergency Christmas Day patch for Xbox systems addressed several problems, including game-crashing bugs that were connected to the title’s divorce mechanic and the newly introduced Raccoon Shop. These fixes were applied to the PlayStation versions of the game as well, while a rollout on the Switch should come soon, according to ConcernedApe.
