Summary

AStardew Valleyplayer shared their frustration at finding a meteorite had landed overnight in one of the worst possible places on their farm. The fan isn’t alone, as whileStardew Valleymeteorites can be exciting and valuable, they have also been a nuisance for many players who have encountered them.

InStardew Valley, random experiences can happen on the farm when a player goes to sleep for the night. This includes things like fairies orStardew Valley’s witch appearing and casting magicon crops or animals, alien crash landings, or meteorites falling from the sky. When mined, meteorites can drop some pretty valuable materials and items, but they can also land in some dreadful locations.

Such is the case forStardew Valleyplayer Zestyclose_River_601, who found a meteorite had fallen from the sky and landed smack dab in the path for the southern exit of the player’s farm. A screenshot shows them looking at the meteorite from the side, with the meteorite perfectly centered in the exit path. Based on the player’s hotbar, they lack thepickaxe upgrade necessary to break the meteoriteand get the valuable materials inside. In other words, they’ll only be able to use the paths near their house to enter and exit the farm, at least until they spend the time and resources necessary to upgrade their pickaxe withClint.

Stardew Valley Fans Commiserate Over Meteorite Problems

Many fans have shared in Zestyclose_River_601’s frustration over this scene, with some reporting that they’ve experienced similar issues. While meteorites can’t land in such a way that a player gets completely trapped on the farm, it’s nonetheless frustrating to lose a shortcut like this. Other players have experienced different headaches with meteorites, like having them destroy prize crops, or even block off the entryway to the farm cave. Since a meteorite can land just about anywhere on the farm, it can potentially show up exactly where it’s most problematic. With only a1% chance of a meteorite landing inStardew Valley, some players have likely never seen a meteorite, but based on the number of people experiencing similar incidents, some would probably prefer to never be that “lucky” again.

Thankfully for Zestyclose_River_601, they had already upgraded their pickaxe twice prior to this happening. While the steel pickaxe can’t break the meteorite, they only have one upgrade left to go. TheIridium Orethat will eventually drop from the meteorite may even end up being a boon, as the valuable material can be used toupgradeStardew Valleytoolseven further.
