Summary

AStardew Valleyplayer experienced absurd luck while diving deep in the Skull Cavern, securing multiple Auto-Petters as they went. The finds have left a number of players jealous, and understandably so, asStardew Valley’s Auto-Petters are very rare.

InStardew Valley, petting one’s animals regularly is an important task to complete. Petting farm animals boosts their happiness level, which in turn increases the amount and quality of valuable items they drop, like milk or rabbit’s feet. However, on larger farms, petting every single animal can become an arduous task, and skipping it for long enough will lead to animals losing affection. As a result, some players like touse Auto-Pettersto make their lives easier.

Getting anAuto-Pettercan be a problem for a lot of players as it’s one of therarest items inStardew Valley, but apparently not so for Rabanico, who shared their incredible fortune with fans on the game’s subreddit. In the screenshots shared, they reveal that they found not one or two, but a whopping four Auto-Petters as they descended through the floors of the Skull Cavern. Auto-Petters only have a 3.6% chance of dropping from chests in the Skull Cavern, so some players have never seen one drop there, even though it’s one of the better places to try and find them in.

Stardew Valley Players May Find More Luck Following Fan’s Strategy

While this player needed a good amount of luck to achieve their results, their strategy could potentially help others to find Auto-Petters. Rather than manually descending through the floors, Rabanico hoarded jade in advance and traded them forStaircases with theCalico Desert Trader, which offers them exclusively on Sundays. After buying around 600 Staircases, they used them to rapidly descend through the Skull Cavern. This greatly reduces the risk of dying to enemy mobs and also increases the number of chests a player will come across, thus increasing the chance of finding an Auto-Petter.

With that said, there is another method of getting an Auto Petter that is more of a guarantee. Players who decide to pursueStardew Valley’s Joja route can buy one for just 50,000 gold aftercompleting the Joja Community Development Form. However, completing the form requires 135,000 gold, so players will need a fair amount of cash in order to unlock them. Unfortunately, there’s no equivalent unlock for those who prefer working with the Junimo in the Community Center route. This may be a deal-breaker for some fans, as many players dislike Joja, making the Skull Cavern technique one of the better ways of getting one.
