Adventure Timehas been a staple property inMultiVersus. Since its announcement, more characters from theAdventure Timecrew have made their way intoMultiVersusbut, unfortunately, one major character seems to have been left behind in the Land of Ooo.
With so many major properties inMultiVersusand more on the way, adding yet anotherAdventure TimecharacterafterMultiVersus' Marcelineback in December 2024 seems unlikely for the time being. Still, the exclusion of one character in particular feels odd considering the heavy amount ofAdventure Timecontent inMultiVersus.

Adventure Time has a Grip on MultiVersus
As one of the most heavily represented properties inMultiVersus,Adventure Timehas plenty of representation both on and off ofMultiVersus’ character roster. As mentioned previously,Marceline the Vampire Queen is the most recent groundbreakingaddition to the game’s character roster while otherAdventure Timecharacters have been a part ofMultiVersussince the beginning.
Adventure Times' Jake the Dogand Finn the Human were announced as part ofMultiVersus’ initial character roster and were even available during the game’s first tech tests.
Warner Bros. and Player First Games made the odd choice to includeBanana Guard as a full-fledged fighter inMultiVersus. InAdventure Time, Banana Guards are a type of Candy People who guard Princess Bubblegum. They are shown time and time again failing at their duties, which is why Princess Bubblegum tends to rely on Finn and Jake for quests.
Characters that driveAdventure Time’s plot forward more so than the Banana Guards have beenrelegated to NPCs inMultiVersus, like Lady Rainicorn and BMO. However, these characters have their own Announcer Packs and Finn can use BMO as a moveset character if purchased from Choose Goose.Adventure Timealso notably has two maps in the game. The Candy Kingdom and Tree Fort maps have two and three variations respectively.
WithMultiVersusclearly prepared to pull from the more obscure aspects ofAdventure Time, it’s incredibly surprising that one of the main members of Finn and Jake’s crew hasn’t joined them in the game. After Marceline’s addition, it only makes sense that her on-and-off-again lover and favorite royalPrincess Bubblegum should joinMultiVersus’ character roster.
Princess Bubblegum Should Reunite with Her Friends in MultiVersus
Princess Bubblegum would not only fill outMultiVersus’ roster ofAdventure Timecharacters but her lore in the game is very conducive to creating a set of fighting moves. Bubblegum is not simply just a princess; she is a dedicated scientist whose experiments sometimes go awry. Though he’s also notably a great scientist,Rick’sMultiVersusAttacks and Specialstend to involve technology that he created inRick and Mortyrather than scientific explosions. IfMultiVersustook a more scientific approach to Bubblegum, the game could differentiate the two characters' skill sets while emphasizing their scientific backgrounds.
Of course, Bubblegum needs some more traditional fighting moves rather than just chemical explosions if she wants to win a fight. Princess Bubblegum can notably project pieces of candy, and even root beer, out of her hands.
MultiVersushas included Princess Bubblegum’s Peppermint Butler in the background of one of the Candy Kingdom maps. He’s one of Princess Bubblegum’s most loyal subjects with a disturbing interest in the dark arts, and perhaps he could be incorporated into Bubblegum’s kit in some way. While Princess Bubblegum’s addition is likely far away, she should join her friends inMultiVersusat her latest convenience.
