Jenna Coleman Teases The Sandman Return
Coleman was only in three episodes inThe SandmanSeason 1, and it was questionable whether she would return for Season 2. Photos taken of Coleman on the set ofThe SandmanSeason 2seemed to suggest she would be returning, but it’s since been officially confirmed by Coleman herself in an interview withScreen Rantthat Johanna will be involved in the new episodes. “Well, I was seen on set actually, so yeah, I definitely am… I’m back in Season 2,” she said. Coleman also teased that Season 2 ofThe Sandmanis more “visually stunning” and “cinematic” than the first, with the scale ramping up to meet the needs of the unique show.
“Yeah. Yeah, I think I’m allowed to say that. I’m pretty sure I am. Well, I was seen on set actually, so yeah, I definitely am. Yeah. Yeah, I’m back in Season 2. I’d say [season two] is probably more visually stunning than it was the first year. I mean, I’ve done bits of ADR. What can I say without Allan Heinberg shouting at me? The scale is, I mean, it’s so cinematic and so I think it’s a very unique show. So yeah, everything that you loved in Season 1 is there and more for sure.”
In Season 1, Coleman appeared as both Johanna Constantine, the occult detective, and her identical ancestor, Lady Johanna. Dream comes to her to retrieve his magical pouch of sand and, in exchange helps rid Johanna of her recurring nightmare. It’s unclear yet whether Coleman will return as the modern-day Johanna, or Lady Johanna in Season 2, or both.
