Much like other LEGO video games developed by TT Games,LEGO Horizon Adventuresis a fairly simple game to complete and playthrough compared to its realistic Horizon counterparts. WhileHorizon Zero DawnandHorizon Forbidden Westare filled to the brim with diverse quests, difficult-to-destroy machines, and complex puzzles,LEGO Horizon Adventures’ features less compounded activities.Adventures’ is designed to be easily accessible for players 10 years old or older, so Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo strove to streamlineHorizon’s core gameplay with simplistic acts and multiple tutorials or guides from NPCs such as Rost or other inhabitants of Mother’s Heart.

Some of these tutorials include teaching the player how to fight animalistic machines as Aloy, how to traverse cliffsides, and how to use the Focus to locate enemies and their weak points. Mother’s Heart tribesmen further teach the player how to build new structures and decorate them with plots. New structures can additionally be unlocked, such as Teb’s clothing shop, allowing players tocustomize Aloy and her companions’ appearances with alternate outfits. However, there are a few mechanics and tricks that can benefit gamers that NPCs don’t inform Aloy and her friends about.

Hidden Mechanics and Tricks in LEGO Horizon Adventures

Look For Silver Studs Leading to Hidden Caches

Like previous TT Games LEGO titles, an underlying goal inLEGO Horizon Adventuresis to collect as many LEGO studsas possible to purchase things in the hub. Bronze studs are also used to lead players toward a quest’s main objective. However, players may have seen a few silver studs scattered about the post-apocalyptic landscapes and thought nothing of it. In reality, these silver studs will lead players to hidden caches, including small buildable LEGO sets that reward players with studs, chests filled with hundreds of studs, or chests filled with unique weapons and gadgets. Going off the beaten path will prove bountiful for pliers inAdventuresjust as it has in many other video games.

Mixing and Matching Outfits in LEGO Horizon Adventures

One ofLEGO Horizon Adventures’ unique aspects compared to other LEGO games is its outfit system. Instead of gamers being able to select from a variety of characters or copies of characters with different clothing, players can switchthe outfits of Aloy, Rost, Varl, Teersa, and Erendwhen they play as the respective characters. However, the shop nor Teb do not tell the player directly that they can mix and match parts of the outfits to make their own. For example, Aloy could wear Sun-King Avad’s crown while wearing the Shield-Weaver torso and Green Ninja legs fromNinjago’s Lloyd. This can allow players to have greater expression in how they playAdventures’ and have fun showing off their mixed and matched outfits to friends.

Farming Studs with Yards and Plots

As players progress throughLEGO Horizon Adventures’ campaign, they’ll eventually be able to purchase and build a variety of decorations, huts, shops, farms, and other facilities throughout Mother’s Heart yards and plots. While these structures may appear to be mere decor at first, shops, huts, and other interactable structures can pay the player with gold studs when they return from a quest. Players can farm studs using these public facilities by repeatedly playing through Apex Machine Hunts and collecting payment from every structure when they return to Mother’s Heart. By using this method, gamers can quickly make themselves rich and be able to purchase any remaining outfit, upgrade, or structure inAdventures.

Quickly Completing the Bulletin Board with Apex Machine Hunts

After rescuing Karst the Handyman from Eclipse cultists, players will eventually gain access tothe bulletin board at Mother’s Heart. Here, multiple community jobs will be listed, such as building a chicken coup, destroying certain machines with certain elements, and dressing up as other characters. Each job completed will reward players with Golden Bricks that can be used to access new areas of Mother’s Heart. While these jobs could be completed by playing the story, some tasks are harder to complete by just following the campaign. Players could instead replay the Apex Machine Hunts over and over to easily gain access to many weapons and gadgets to complete certain jobs. This will help players quickly complete jobs, collect Golden Bricks, as well as unlock new outfits forLEGO Horizon Adventures.

While Apex Machine Hunts can be replayed multiple times inLEGO Horizon Adventures, red Apex Bricks can only be earned once per Hunt mission, as there are only 16 Apex Bricks to collect in the game.
