Hunter X Hunteris a widely beloved Shonen manga series and for a good reason. It has proven to be one of the best-written stories in the medium. However, the series is plagued with long breaks and hiatuses, the latest of which was announced recently.
Despite that, the next year seems very promising for fans of the series, as Togashi is working on the manga continuously, and plans on treating the fans of his series with quite a lot of chapters, more than fans could’ve ever imagined.
Hunter X Hunter’s Most Recent Hiatus
HxH Took A Break After Chapter 410
Much to the sadness of the fans,Hunter x Hunterrecently went on a hiatus. This isn’t uncommon with HxH at all and fans are aware of it too. The series often goes on breaks due to the poor health of the author. Despite that, the manga delivered 10 chapters this year,spanning from chapters 401 to 410. The last time the series went on a hiatus, fans had no idea when the manga would come back, if at all, and the manga ended up going on a whole 2 year hiatus. This time, however, things seem to be very different.
Once the manga returns, fans will continue with the intense ongoing Succession Contest arc that was left on quite the cliffhanger at the end of chapter 410.
Hunter x Hunter Is Getting 50 More Chapters
Togashi Is Working On The Manga
Just today,it was revealed that Togashi, the mangaka ofHunter x Hunter, is planning to work very hard on the manga. On top of the 10 chapters that were released this year, Togashi plans to work on at least 50 more. This is something HxH fans have been dreaming of for years, especially after the series went through some extremely long hiatuses throughout the last decade.
I am in the process of reviewing and adjusting the characters' dialogues and timeline for the next 50 chapters of Hunter X Hunter, which will be published in the future. As soon as that work is done, I will resume the work I have been interrupting, such as adding inking to manuscripts. – Togashi
This means that fans are now almost guaranteed that theHxHmanga will continue up to Chapter 460. It also means that the current ongoing arc, the Succession Contest arc, is more than likely going to wrap up. For context, this arc started over a decade ago, back in 2012, and could finally be done within the upcoming 2 years or so, depending on how and when these chapters are published.
If this arc is wrapped up, it may be adapted into an anime. With 50 chapters, it’s possible that Togashi will even get into the next arc of the series, which will likely cover the Dark Continent, something fans have been waiting forever to explore.
As long as Togashi’s health stays good, and he keeps taking breaks, fans will be treated to amazing HxH chapters.
