Virtua Fighter’s Plan to Compete Against Street Fighter and Tekken

When asked about how the developers plan to makeVirtua Fightershine compared toTekkenandStreet Fighter, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio producer Masayoshi Yokoyama explains how they’re planning on revitalizing the game, comparing it to how theLike a Dragon/Yakuzaseries was created by making an action-adventure game and adding the culture of Japanese nightlife. In that sense, RGG Studio’s plan forVirtua Fighterseems to be taking the base of the game and adding distinctive features to make it stand out, such as a new story mode, since the original games don’t focus that much on plot.

Masayoshi also commented on thegameplay and action ofVirtua Fighter, saying it’s more realistic than RGG Studio’s flagship series as well. Despite that, Masayoshi says that it could also be to its benefit, pairing a very realistic setting and surroundings to make the new game shine. Fans are eagerly anticipating what the nextVirtua Fightergame has in store.
