If there’s one thingStardew Valleyfans andBaldur’s Gate 3fans undeniably have in common, it’s sheer creativity. With both games boasting huge modding communities, it was only a matter of time before these two popular games merged – and now, some of Faerun’s most beloved characters are coming toStardew Valley.
The major mod, developed by a team, is called “Baldur’s Village,” and it was teased on social media months ago. With regular updates since, the first part of thecozy farming sim’s mod was announced last week as complete. And it’s no wonder it needs to be released in pieces, as it introduces its own storylines and character-accurate visuals.

Stardew Valley Welcomes High Fantasy with Baldur’s Village
Baldur’s Gate 3’s Origin Characters are Coming to Pelican Town
One of the team’s modders, @XunHe1145 on X, confirmed that allBaldur’s Gate 3origin characters (Astarion, Shadowheart, Lae’zel, Gale, Wyll, and Karlach) will be available in the first version of the mod, in addition to Halsin. Each character will have their own tent at a familiar campsite in the forest nearPelican Town, which will include the best boy in the realms, Scratch. They will also have their own houses on an independent map, though it’s unclear if this must first be unlocked.
In a pattern reminiscent ofBG3, some characters will be available from the start and others will need to be unlocked. And the artistic and narrative detail in the teaser images is an impressive homage to each, with Astarion’s home including lush red furniture and jars of blood and Gale having “extensively” spoken toStardew’s town wizard, among other things.
There will also berecognizable NPCs, like Alfiraor origin-related secondary characters like Shadowheart’s parents. They will show up but do not have a permanent place in Pelican Town. Alternatively, there are no current plans to add Jaheira, Minsc, and Minthara.
As forStardewmechanics, integration appears to be present. According to the mod’s page on Nexus, content includes “hundreds of lines of dialogue, unique schedules, gifting, romance, heart events, and a short questline,” satisfying fans who enjoy thecomplex story ofBG3.
Baldur’s Village Mod Plans to Include More Content
Given the amount of time and work it has taken to create this mod and integrate it intoStardew Valley’s modding framework, there is more content to be expected in the future. Map expansions and special designs for characters were confirmed by @XunHe1145 to be added and refined in later updates, and characters’ festival participation is in the works according to the mod page.
In September, the modder also acknowledged the difficulty in coding events, making it difficult to include marriable characters. For even one minute of story development, the team had to go through multiple revisions. However, if crowdfunds are successful, the modding team will prioritize creatingStardew Valleyspecial eventsfor later versions of the mod, determined by voting on Patreon. Although unconfirmed recently, earlier updates indicated Astarion was the first and only character with romance events, so it is likely he will be the first tester for whether the mod events work at all.
The mod will also support English and Mandarin, but other translations are based on the work of willing volunteers. Nonetheless, Baldur’s Village is just one example of the passion of independent creators, especially found in fans of these games. With even a small team, Baldur’s Village will soon significantly expandStardew Valley’s content, plunging a game with existing magical elements even deeper into its utterly enchanting fantasy.
