If that was not enough, the newest version ofWoW Classicwill also be forging ahead, making for an extremely packed year of content for fans to enjoy.

World of Warcraft Classic Has Two Expansions of Content Coming

Cataclysm Classic is Coming to an End

At the start of 2025, players can expect to seetheir adventures inWorld of Warcraft Cataclysm Classicslowly conclude. At the end of 2024, they were treated to Phase 3, which brought the Firelands raid and everything associated with it. While no exact date has been revealed yet, fans should be getting Phase 4 sometime soon. It has been delayed from its original January 2025 release date, but it should not be long before players get their hands on it.

Phase 4 will introduce a slew of new dungeons, the Dragon Soul raid, andthe finale of theCataclysmstory. After months of preparing, they will finally take on Deathwing and hopefully stop him from destroying Azeroth forever. With that, there will be countless new armor sets to collect, new quests to conquer, and all sorts of new activities to participate in. And once that goes live, all eyes will be on what comes next.

Mists of Pandaria Classic is Kicking Off Later this Year

Later this year,World of Warcraft Classicplayers will finally be venturing to the mysterious lands of Pandaria asMists of Pandaria Classicis set to start rolling out in the summer. They will first be treated to the pre-patch introducing Theramore’s Fall, the Pandaren playable race, the Monk class, and pet battles. In the fall, the expansion will officially launch and whisk players away on a wild adventure that will see them once again fight for the very fate of Pandaria and Azeroth. While the majority of that content will be released throughout 2026, the first chapter will round out 2025 in glorious fashion.

Classic 20th Anniversary Edition Content Will Roll Out Throughout the Year

All Phases of Classic Are on the Way

Launched at the end of last year,World of Warcraft Classic 20th Anniversary Editionis also set to receive a plethora of content throughout 2025. Right now, players are being treated to that classic 1-60 leveling adventure along withthe Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair raids. On January 9th, they can expect a slew of content with the launch of Phase 2; Ruins of Dire Maul.

WoW Classic 20th Anniversary EditionPhase 2will bring the updated honor system, Dire Maul, and world bosses Azuregos and Kazzak. Then, on January 16th, Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley Battlegrounds will open their doors, giving players some high-stakes PvP action. After that, they can expect so much more content throughout the year.

Phase 3 is set to launch in the spring, bringing with itBlackwing Lair and the Darkmoon Faire. Phase 4 will then arrive in the summer and introduce the Zul’Gurub Raid and Arathi Basin battleground. Phase 5 will be released at the start of fall and add the Temple of Ahni’Qiraj and Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj Raid along with the AQ War Effort. The final phase will then launch at the end of fall, adding the Scourge Invasion, Naxxramas raid, and Silithus World PvP. With tons of content looming on the horizon, Classic fans will surely not get bored.

Burning Crusade Classic Launches Later This Year

If that was not enough, Blizzard also plans tolaunchWorld of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classicat the end of the year. Players will have to take up arms against the Burning Legion and Illidan Stormrage once more in the game’s first-ever expansion pack. They will not only be treated to a whole new continent in the form of Outland but will also get to create their very own Blood Elf or Draenei. Along with that, the level cap will be increased to 70 and there will be countless new quests to complete and monsters to conquer.

This release will likely be the same coreBurning Crusade Classicexperience that launched in 2021. Those servers werereplaced byWrath of the Lich Kingin 2022, so it will be nice to see this expansion return. The roadmap suggests it could launch in either winter 2025 or spring 2026. But, as the phases of Classic come to a close, the studio will likely share more.

Season of Discovery Phase 7 Looms

Alongside those two versions ofWorld of Warcraft Classic,Season of Discovery playerswill also be getting some new content to mess around with. Currently, players are embroiled in the Phase 6 content which introduced the AQ War Effort at the end of 2024. Sometime this winter, they will be treated to Phase 7. That update will add the Naxxramas raid and some new end-game content. Blizzard has yet to shed light on what that is or what comes after Phase 7, so players will have to wait and see.

This upcoming content makes for a pretty exciting year forWorld of Warcraft Classicplayers. As with retailWoW, there will surely be a few surprises waiting for players as the year progresses. Additionally, there will likely be new store mounts and Twitch drops for them to snag. Outside of that, there is no telling what else Azeroth has in store over these next 12 months.
