Summary

World of Warcraftis removing the timegate for Singing Citrines on the Siren Isle, which will allow players to pick and choose between all 12 gems without waiting until the appropriate weekly modifier to get them. This popular change is coming toWorld of Warcraftin a hotfix expected to arrive very soon.

The Siren Isle is a new zone inWorld of WarcraftPatch 11.0.7 full of rare spawnsand quests that rotate between three types of enemies: Vrykul, Pirate, and Naga. On the island, players can obtain Cyrce’s Circlet, a powerful, upgradeable ring that can socket three different types of Singing Citrines. Four of these gemstones were obtainable the first week, with the other eight being locked behind the other weekly enemy modifiers.

However, it seemsWorld of Warcraftis now making every Singing Citrine available right away. In a recent forum post,WoWcommunity manager Kaivax announced that Singing Citrines available from the Goblin, Earthen, and Arathiexcavation events inWorld of Warcraftwill still drop from completing as usual. Those that are dropped from the various enemy factions can now also be purchased from Taljori, the Tortollan vendor found behind Bargus at the Siren Isle campsite.

WoW Removes Siren Isle Singing Citrine Timegate

According to Kaivax,World of Warcraft’s original intention to have the different Citrines drop from each enemy faction was “creating more frustration than anticipation,” leading to this change being implemented. The hotfix is expected to go live before the end of December 20, and once it does, players should be able to collect all 12 Singing Citrines to mix and match on their Cyrce’s Circlet – and after they are collected once, players should be able to purchase duplicates for 50 Flame-Blessed Iron, which can be freely shared with their alts.

Needless to say, fans have near-unanimously applauded this change. While many saw the intent behind Blizzard’s original design, the execution left many fans wanting, especially since one of the three Singing Citrine slots this week was stuck with a healing modifier.World of Warcraftfans still need to wait for the Cyrce’s Circlet upgrade itemseach week, but at least their Singing Citrines are much easier to set up.

Cyrce’s Circlet itself is a powerful item that was better than most rings, save those found fromWorld of Warcraft’s Mythic+ dungeonsor raids, even with the previous timegated Singing Citrines. With all of these gemstones now available, Cyrce’s Circlet will likely become the best-in-slot ring for even the most hardcore of raiders.
