A newWuthering Wavesleak has revealed that Rover’s next element will be Aero and that the unit should debut in Version 2.2.Wuthering Waveswill soon enter its Rinascita chapter and with it will come numerous new characters and Echoes.
Similar toGenshin Impact,Elements inWuthering Wavesare a character’s damage-dealing attribute that manifests through their Attacks, Skill, or Ultimate. The difference lies in howWuthering Wavesdoes not have elemental reactions but instead features Intro and Outro Skills for enhanced damage. There are currently six playable elements inWuthering Waves, and while all characters have a single Element, the game’s MC, the Rover, is the only unit that can switch between Havoc and Spectro. However, it seems another will be added to Rover’s kit in future updates, according to a recent leak.
Prominentleaker Stepleaks has reportedthat Rover’s next element will be Aero and that it will be added sometime duringWuthering WavesVersion 2.2. Other popular 5-star Aero units are Jiyan and Jianxin, but with Rinascita expanding the roster, more Aero five-star characters may be added alongside the rumored Aero Rover. The leak also reveals the release order and Elements of some upcoming characters, suggesting that Phoebe, a Spectro unit, and Brant, a Fusion one, will debut in Version 2.1. Both characters have previously been officially revealed byWuthering Wavesas Rinascita Resonators. Meanwhile, a mysterious character named Cantarella will debut in the 2.2 update alongside Aero Rover. Finally, the leak reports that the upcoming Resonator Zani will be a Spectro unit, while another surprise character named Cartethyia will be Aero. Players will have to wait for these banners though, asWuthering WavesVersion 2.0will launch 5-star characters Carlotta and Roccia first.
Wuthering Waves Leak Reveals Aero Rover and More Characters' Release Window
In previous updates,Wuthering Wavesplayers were able to unlock Havoc Rover by leveling up and progressing through the game’s main storyline. Whether this would be the same method to obtain Aero Rover remains unknown. On the other hand, a new Element won’t be the only important addition to Rover’s gameplay coming in the future patches. Earlier leaks revealed thatWuthering Wavesis adding a gender-switch featurefor the main character in Version 2.0.
While Spectro Rover was deemed underwhelming by players, Havoc Rover was met with better praise as a fairly good unit. However, the Rover is still eclipsed by other more powerful Resonators on the roster. If Aero Rover becomes a strong character,Wuthering Wavesmight set itself aside from competitors, considering thatGenshin Impact’s Traveler has long been criticized for its poor Hydro and Electro kits.Wuthering WavesVersion 2.0 will launch on January 2. The update will transport players to Rinascita, a nation marked by masked carnivals and celebrations.
