While HoYoverse has given few hints about Astra Yao and Evelyn’s gameplay,Zenless Zone Zerowasted no time in introducing fans to the next additions to the roster. During the 2024 Game Awards broadcast, the developer officially teased Astra Yao during a special trailer, giving the first in-game look at the Stars of Lyra’s songstress. Version 1.4 also featured a new story segment involving both Astra Yao and Evelyn, coming after the conclusion of the update’s main story. New video showcases are now showing off some of the in-game animations for Astra Yao and Evelyn.
Zenless Zone Zero Leak Shows Astra Yao, Evelyn Entrance Animations
A new pair of videos shared byZenless Zone Zeroleaker Tart shows off theentrance animations for Astra YaoandEvelyn following their release. Astra Yao’s entrance animation plays to her image as a confident starlet within New Eridu, with her jacket flowing behind her and flicking her hair back with style. Evelyn’s animation exudes an aura of confidence for the Stars of Lyra bodyguard, donning her jacket as she enters the battlefield.Astra Yao and Evelyn will releaseduring Version 1.5, currently expected to launch on January 22.
The addition of Astra Yao and Evelyn will mark another milestone for the urban action RPG with its eighth unique faction. The Stars of Lyra will be the first fully new faction introduced toZenless Zone Zerosince the game’s release update. Most ofZenless Zone Zero’s current factionshave existed since the game’s launch, with groups like the Sons of Calydon and Section 6 later seeing new members added. While the Special Response Team was not available from release, its first member did arrive during Version 1.0 with Zhu Yuan’s debut during the second half.
Astra Yao and Evelyn’s introduction toZenless Zone Zerowill likely make a major impact on the game’s meta, owing to their Attribute and class combinations. Astra Yao will debut as the first S-Rank Ether Support character, with the only pre-existing A-Rank optioncoming with starter character Nicole. Evelyn will be the second character to boast the Fire Attack combination, joining Version 1.0 S-Rank character Soldier 11. Astra Yao and Evelyn are already set to be fan-favorites following their release in Version 1.5.
