Earlier in December,Zenless Zone Zerolaunched Version 1.4, which added two new playable characters and an S-Rank Bangboo. The update also added two permanent gameplay modes that focus primarily on battle. However,Zenless Zone Zerotends to introduce temporary game modes for special events that involve different gameplay experiences. For example, the RPG recently began its “Bangboo vs Ethereal” limited event, which features a tower defense game mode with Bangboo. It seems yet another special gameplay mode is coming toZenless Zone Zeroin the next update, according to a new leak.
Community leakerPalito has reportedthat a multiplayer platformer game mode is landing onZenless Zone Zeroduring Version 1.5. The leak includes screenshots of several stages that are very similar to other titles likeFall Guys. According to the leak, this game mode might not be permanent, but exclusive to the upcoming “Grand Marcel” event. It is unclear whether players will enter the platform stages as their preferred character or as Bangboo, though. The event will likely grant players juicy rewards like Polychromes, aside from theextra free pulls rumored forZenless Zone ZeroVersion 1.5.
Zenless Zone Zero Leak Reveals Platformer Game Mode Event
While a platformer gameplay mode would be new toZenless Zone Zero, developer HoYoverse has previously introduced a similar event in another title. DuringHonkai Impact 3rd’s 6.1 update in 2022, an event called “Midnight Chronicle” had players compete inFall Guys-like stages. At that time, fans played as chibi versions ofHonkai Impact 3rdcharacters, so there is a chance thatZenless Zone Zeromight follow the same route. Of course,Zenless Zone Zero’s Bangbooare very popular as well. The game allows fans to play as Bangboo in certain scenarios like the Hollow Zero mode, but fans have long been asking for more opportunities to roam around as Bangboo.
Zenless Zone ZeroVersion 1.5 is set to arrive on January 22. The update will add the long-awaited Astra Yao and her bodyguard Evelyn to the playable roster.
