The update, titled “A Storm of Falling Stars,” will add a new main story chapter and the release of S-rank units Asaba Harumasa and the highly-anticipated Hoshimi Miyabi. It is worth noting that Asaba Harumasa will be given for free to players inZenless Zone ZeroVersion 1.4. The patch will also feature plenty of quality-of-life upgrades and limited events. While Version 1.4 may seem very rewarding, developer HoYoverse recently surprised players with a glimpse of what to look forward to in future patches, including the long-awaited character Astra Yao.
During The Game Awards 2024,Zenless Zone Zerolaunched a new promotional video that revealed Astra Yao’s appearance in-game. As confirmed by developers, Astra Yao is a famous singer and actress in New Eridu who carries a secret role behind the scenes. In line with her background, she has a glamorous outfit and accessories paired with long black hair. The clip shows off Astra Yao’s singing skills as well, with a new song in Cantonese. She is not seen in any combat scenarios, though, butearlierZenless Zone Zeroleaks about Astra Yaosuggested that she would join the roster eventually. On the other hand, the trailer also features a mysterious blonde female character who follows Astra Yao’s shadow. The new woman does perform in battle, which could hint at her becoming playable. She is suspected to be Evelyn, another long-rumored upcoming unit.
Zenless Zone Zero Officially Reveals Astra Yao In-game
Astra Yao has been mentioned in various in-game content before, including a post on New Eridu’s Inter-knot and a movie poster found in the Random Play video store. She is also implied to be the owner of Snap, a Bangboo players met during the Virtual Battlefield Mayhem event. According toZenless Zone Zerolore, Astra Yao is such a big star that she needs a Bangboo prototype to avoid harassment. Considering thatZenless Zone Zerohas confirmed all Version 1.4 banners, it is likely that a potential Astra Yao banner will arrive in later patches, possibly in the 1.5 update.
